International Register of Fetal Morphologists.

Reproductive toxicity studies, designed to reveal any effect of a substance on mammalian reproduction, are performed as part of the non-clinical safety assessment of pharmaceuticals and chemicals.  The evaluation of these studies involves the skills of specialist Fetal Morphologists.

The Register will foster competence in fetal morphology examination techniques, and provide recognition of the expertise achieved by the Fetal Morphologists.  It will also support confidence in the data generated by those on the Register and so will provide reassurance to the Regulatory Authorities.  The attainment of membership onto the register is to be seen as a significant milestone in member's careers and increasingly desirable for career progression.
